In New York City a group of young professionals are friends, family, and roommates. Monica (Courtney Cox) is a neurotic clean freak and the sister to nerdy paleontologist, Ross (David Schwimmer).

Monica’s best friend from high-school, Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) is a little superficial, but trying to make it without her father’s credit card.

Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow) is a street-smart airhead that keeps the group from getting too serious. Chandler (Matthew Perry) and Ross have been best friends since college.

Joey (Matt LeBlanc) is an actor and roommate to Chandler that always needs a little extra money, and a little extra time to understand jokes.

The group spend their free time together at the local coffee shop—Central Perk—where they catch-up on daily events, including Ross’s secret love for Rachel; Phoebe finding out that her twin sister is a porn star; Monica falling for her dad’s friend; Joey auditioning for a daytime soap opera; Rachel getting a job at Central Perk; and Chandler—who no one actually knows what he does for a living.
